Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to Appear in Star Trek Beyond

In today’s modern era of blockbuster movies, all kinds of celebrities are finding themselves with cameos in the big sci-fi titles. We can now add Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to that list of random celebrity cameos.

According to Elizabeth Weise from USA Today, Bezos will be playing a random alien in the upcoming movie, Star Trek Beyond. Bezos is apparently a huge Star Trek fan, so like any fan of the science fiction universe, he was absolutely thrilled to get an opportunity to appear in the movie.

“He was awesome,” Lin said of Bezos arriving on set. “It was like a president was visiting, you know? He had a big entourage! But it didn’t matter because he was so into it. He had to wait around all day because it was one day we were shooting like three different scenes.”

As an alien extra, we likely won’t be able to recognize Bezos, assuming he’s wearing plenty of makeup. Unfortunately, we don’t have any photos of the cameo right now, but once the movie has hit the theaters, we should definitely be able to find some shots that will be provided of the Amazon CEO.

This isn’t the first celebrity to have a random cameo in a top-tier sci-fi movie lately. Back in December, James Bond actor Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Kevin Smith and a number of other big names got their own special cameos for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There are also rumors that Tom Hardy could make an appearance in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Star Trek Beyond hits theaters on July 22nd.
