I don’t know about you, but my car gets wildly out of hand if I don’t attempt to control the disaster. I am constantly on the go, and sometimes I don’t even recognize the chaos inside my automobile until a passenger steps in and doesn’t have anywhere to put their feet! I decided to install a quick car trash can to make sure everything stayed in tip-top shape moving forward, and I tried out these two cans in comparison to see which one worked better for me. I highly recommend getting one of these so that you can keep your vehicle clean and organized while on the go, too! It has made all the difference in the world for me!

Comparing Capacity

If I am going to have a trash can, I want it to be able to hold enough! Ideally, I don’t have to take it out to empty too often. Every day would be annoying. So, looking at the capacity of the trash can options is something I kept in mind and compared when trying out these two trash cans.

The HOTOR Car Trash Can offers a 2-gallon capacity, which did feel like ample space for disposing of trash while on the go. This is suitable for regular use, and it let me get away with emptying it about once a week.

On the other hand, the EPAuto Waterproof Car Trash Can boasts a larger 2.5-gallon capacity, offering slightly more room for trash. Since it is bigger, this trash can is ideal for anyone who seems to generate more trash while in the car (no judgment) or anyone who takes longer road trips or commutes.

So in terms of how much trash the can could hold, the EPAuto does edge out the HOTOR with its slightly larger 2.5-gallon size. If you want just that little extra space for trash disposal, the EPAuto model may be the better choice for your needs!

Comparing How Leakproof They Are

Another important factor- these trash cans better not be leaking in my car! I wanted one that is easy to clean out and keep tidy, and one with a leakproof design to ensure that any spills or mess inside the trash stay contained. I’m trying to simplify things, not make a bigger mess! So I compared how these two trash cans held up against one another.

The HOTOR Car Trash Can does provide a durable leakproof inner lining that is easy to clean and wash, making sure that food spills and stubborn stains don’t appear. The EPAuto Car Trash Can also offers a built-in waterproof interior, and the no-collapse design ensures that no trash is spilling out!

So in terms of leakproof performance, both products should prove effective for you and offer the solution you need for keeping your car tidy! I thought they were pretty comparable when it came to this.

Comparing Adjustability

I wanted my car trash can to sit nicely in my behicle- not too bulky or taking up a ton of space, so I compared how the two trash can’s adjustability features differ. The HOTOR Car Trash Can boasts an adjustable strap that allows it to be attached on both front and back headrests, as well as the center console, providing versatile placement options and easy access. But the EPAuto Trash Can also offers an adjustable buckle for attaching it to variously-sized things. Since both are versatile and adjustable, I was happy with how they could fit well in my car and not take up too much inconvenient space.

Why Is Helpful to Have a Trash Can in a Car?

  • A trash can maintains cleanliness: It helps keep the car tidy by providing a designated place for you and your passengers to dispose of trash! This prevents garbage from accumulating on the seats, floor, or dashboard, making the car more pleasant for both the driver and passengers. No clutter here, please!

  • It promotes organization: Having a trash can allows for improved organization within the car. Instead of loose wrappers, tissues, or other small items floating around the interior, they can be neatly contained in the trash can.

  • It helps with odor control: Ew! Have passengers been making a face when they get in your car recently? Especially in warm weather, any trash in the car can leave just a general, lingering bad odor. A trash can contains these smells and then also makes it super easy to dispose of in a timely, neat manner.

  • Trash cans are eco-friendly: With a trash can readily available, passengers can dispose of their trash properly instead of leaving it in random places or throwing it out the window, which is harmful to the environment.

  • A car trash can helps with safety: Loose trash equals chaos in a car, which could potentially be a danger while driving! A trash can helps minimize distractions by keeping trash contained and out of the way.

So… Which Car Trash Can to Choose?

To conclude, I was happy with the performance of both of these top two car trash cans; they both were convenient, leakproof, affordable, adjustable, tidy, and easy to use. In the end, I kept the HOTOR Car Trash Can, because I preferred its adjustable strap that could attach anywhere and I thought it looked better in the interior of my car. It makes a huge difference in terms of organization, smell, and just an overall *pleasant* aura in my vehicle. Now I would never go back to not having a car trash can in my vehicle!
