I recently had the opportunity to test out the new Garmin Fenix 7 series and I must say, I’m impressed. After previously using a Fenix 6 Pro, I was curious to see what improvements had been made with the newest series.

Personal Experience

Initially, I was a bit concerned about the transition from physical buttons to a touchscreen display, but I quickly got the hang of it and found that the touchscreen was quite responsive and even made navigation of the watch a bit easier.

The brackets on the case have been strengthened., The touchscreen shielded with Gorilla Glass DX, and the Sapphire Solar models are made of Titanium – all of these features gave the watch a great sense of durability and security. Solar charging was also a great addition, though I have yet to experience it in its full potential due to the colder and darker months.

The Fenix 7 supports an extensive range of sports modes, from cycling to skiing to bouldering, and its tracking features are equally extensive. It can track steps, distance, calories in/out, stress, resting and active heart rate, intensity minutes, floors, blood oxygen levels, sleep, respiration, and more. This device offers a body battery system which can gauge the amount of vigor you have left in your reserves for the duration of the day. Additionally, it includes a Health Snapshot feature that records your heart rate, blood oxygen, respiration, and stress after two minutes of sitting still.

The built-in navigation features are also quite impressive, For heightened accuracy in tracking, the Topo Active Map feature is great for outdoor explorers and allows simultaneous access to numerous satellite frequencies.

However, I ascertained that the cardiac rate monitor was not always dependable., particularly in colder climates. But if you’re willing to invest in a third-party chest strap or armband, you can broadcast your heart rate sensor and get more accurate readings.

All things considered, I’m quite happy with the Fenix 7. It looks great, feels great, and has some great features. Highly recommended!
