Uber is offering rides discounted up to 25 percent this weekend only, but are you one of the lucky customers selected for this promotion?

Christmas might have already come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the people of the world aren’t still in line for some gifts. Uber is currently offering discounted rides through this Sunday, which means going out for a night on the town just got a little bit cheaper.

The promotion is for a cool 25 percent off your UberX rides as well as 25 percent of for those thrifty uberPOOL people in your life. The discounts on both sides of things seem to max out at the $5 limit, but really no one is going to be spending that much on an Uber where $5 is 25 percent of your fare.

It appears that this is a U.S. only promotion, so anyone looking for this deal outside of the States is going to be disappointed.

That being said, there’s a lot going on this weekend that could lead to you using this 25 percent off. Saturday and Sunday will feature two NFL Wild Card games per day, so there’s plenty of opportunity to hit the bar and get home safe afterwards. It’s also a weekend, which means naturally people are going out to the bars and clubs to mourn their New Year resolutions that have already been broken.

Here’s how to see if you’re one of the lucky Uber customers who has this 25 percent discount on your account:

1. Open the Uber app on your phone or mobile device
2. Click on ‘Payment’
3. Scroll down and tap’Promotions’ and you should see a number inside of a circle on the right side of the box
4. You should then see this:

That means the promotion is currently active for you account. Not everyone will have this, but it seems like this is a pretty far reaching promo.

Remember, you only have until Sunday night at midnight to cash in on this deal so don’t wait and lose out.
