Rejoice and drink cheap rosé, wine fans. The International Wine Challenge named Aldi brand rosé among the world’s best.

The Exquisite Collection Cotes de Provence Rosé 2016 — or, Aldi rosé, if you prefer — was named one of the world’s best rosés after two weeks of blind taste testing. The bottle sells for an extremely reasonable $8 and was awarded a silver medal in the main International Wine Challenge before being named the Best Rosé Under $10 in the Great Value Awards.

While the Great Value Awards — and the “under $10” category — may seem like a massive caveat on the honor, wines, like the Aldi rosé, must first win a gold or silver in the main competition to be considered. Meaning, yeah, the best rosé in the world is not $8, but Aldi rosé is still silver-medal-good across all competition.

So don’t let the nuances of competition take the wind of out your rosé-drinking sails. Aldi sells award-winning rosé, meaning you can drink award-winning rosé, all for the — we can’t say this enough — eminently reasonable price of $8.

According to The Sun, Aldi’s Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying Tony Baines had this to say:

Being recognised yet again for the quality of our wine is testament to the hard work our talented buying team put in to deliver exceptional products at unbeatable prices.

It has been a huge year for innovation at Aldi. We’ve not only expanded our sparkling range, but also introduced a brand new French initiative.

We have been working closely with renowned winemaker Jean Claude Mas to change perceptions around French wine, which is often perceived as expensive and intimidating, so it is fantastic to see some of these products acknowledged as some of the best in the world.

Well done, Aldi. Yonder at Vivino, reviewers described the award-winning rosé as “smooth going down” and “quaffable summer juice.” (The Sun went with “strawberry, white fruit and subtle spice flavors.”)

Quaffable summer juice it is then.
