After Monday’s update, users report more storage with iOS 10.3 software.
The rumor mill has not been kind to Apple lately, as various groups of analysts have cast doubt on the production progress of the iPhone 8, but users are giving the brand some good press from the front lines. The company released its latest software update, iOS 10.3, on Monday and if the Tweets are to be believed, the update is freeing up storage space.

The update brings other goodies, of course, including a Find My AirPods feature if you happen to use and frequently lose Apple’s wireless earbuds.
Cricket fans can rejoice and now ask Siri for sports scores and match times.
If you enjoyed Night Shift on your phone, you can now enjoy Night Shift on your Mac.
You will also find a new app called Clips, that allows users to create unique videos, combining video clips, photos and music. A feature called Live Tiles will let you create animated captions and titles using your voice and add filters.
Notably, the iOS 10.3 has a bunch of security patches and bug fixes, so it’s good for privacy and performance issues too.
Exciting as all this is, prepare for a bit of wait when you choose to update. The new OS is quite large and the installation process slow. Apple is introducing a new filing system, which will make no real difference to you, but will significantly change how your products operate. (This new filing system, many suspect, is why users are noticing increased storage.) As always, make sure you back up your device before updating. With serious behind-the-scenes changes, you wouldn’t want to lose anything irreplaceable.
And this wouldn’t be Apple if there wasn’t some grumbling about battery life. Various users have complained about battery drain, but some reviewers believe this is an isolated issue. Similarly, users report issues with WiFi and bluetooth connectivity. So, par for any iOS update course.
