Is CVS open on Memorial Day?

Memorial Day is Monday May 29, 2017 and CVS is open for all your last minute convenience store, pharmacy or immediate care needs.

In a perfect world, Memorial Day is a blissful day on which no one works, no one hurts and we all enjoy friends, family and grilled foods. Unfortunately, not everyone gets Memorial Day off and lucky for you, that means that the fine folks at CVS will be there if and when someone forgets the paper plates and plastic cups your mom reminded you like five times to go buy.

Most CVS chains will remain open the normal business hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. But, it’s worth checking with your local store to see if they have adjusted hours for the holiday Monday.

There are many reasons you may be headed to a CVS on Memorial Day. The aforementioned forgotten disposable tableware is one, however, you may also be in search of snacks, ice, mixers, lawn toys, you name it. However, as a pharmacy, CVS is also an essential resource in case disaster strikes at the barbecue. The aisles are well-equipped to help you in case of minor cuts and bruises or terrible family-induced headaches.

For more serious accidents, you may need to go to the emergency room and, once there, it’s possible your doctor prescribes you treatment that requires a pharmacy. In which case, you’ll be relieved to know the pharmacy component of CVS is also open on Memorial Day.

CVS pharmacies typically have different hours than the stores themselves, usually open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Expect weekend hours on Memorial Day, but the pharmacies will be open.

However, not all Minute Clinics — the convenient care locations for health scares that don’t require going to the emergency room — are open on Memorial Day and some have different hours and early closures. Check with CVS to see if your Minute Clinic location is open.
