As the online retail giant Amazon continues to expand with innovative ideas, the company has now released Amazon Cash as a new way to add funds to your account.
One of the main reasons that Amazon has become the biggest online retailer in the world has been because of its constant willingness to innovate and create new services. The company’s latest innovation will hopefully help customers without credit cards spend more of their money at Amazon.
On Monday morning, Amazon introduced the United States to Amazon Cash. The concept is relatively simple. Amazon users can print out or receive a text message for a bar code attached to their account. They can take this bar code to a handful of different retailers and ask to add funds to their Amazon accounts by paying cash at the register.
Currently, the stores that will allow you to add Amazon Cash funds include CVS, Kum & Go, Speedway, Family Fare Supermarkets and a handful of others. Additional retailers are expected to be added in the future, according to the Amazon Cash page.
Amazon Cash will allow customers to add funds to their Amazon account ranging from $15 to $500 in any single transaction. This will make it easier for Amazon customers who don’t have bank accounts or credit cards to make online purchases.
That may not sound like something ground-breaking for a lot of customers, but for those who don’t have bank accounts or are paid in cash, this could make online shopping significantly more accessible, which is exactly what Amazon is hoping to achieve with this innovation.
