Hundreds of disgruntled Lego lovers are trying to figure out when the UCS Millennium Falcon will be back in stock.
While it’s official release isn’t until the start of October, Lego has released the UCS Millennium Falcon early to a select lucky few. Lego VIP members were able to gain access to a pre-sale event on Thursday, but it was marred by site glitches and issues with ordering.
In short, the whole experience was rotten even for those who were actually able to purchase.
One thing that might have caused this mass confusion was how quickly the UCS Millennium Falcon set sold out. Those who missed out are desperately trying to figure out when the set will be back in stock. VIP members are still able to order the pre-sale, but the product needs to be in stock.
Right now there doesn’t seem to be a rush to get the product back in stock before the October 1 release date. This isn’t to say the set won’t be back in stock in time for the original release date, it’s just that Lego has little interest in opening it back up to a pre-sale.
That’s both good and bad news.
While it would be nice to have another shot at the set, putting it back up for pre-sale effectively defeats the purpose of having a launch on October 1. Just launch the product in an official capacity now and be done with it.
The bad news is that this whole pre-sale experience has left an incredibly sour taste in the mouths of just about everyone. Doing this all over again — the site crashing and the issues with actually ordering — isn’t something folks are clamoring to do again.
Hopefully, Lego figures out the kinks before this thing launches to the whole world.
