Everyone loves to combine things with Lego, but there’s a new mini Macintosh figurine that actually kind of works.

Lego and engineering seems to have gone hand-in-hand for years. Kids playing with Lego unlock something within them that then sets them on a path to create engineering feats later on in life. Sometimes those are important and useful things, other times it leads to crafting a small yet semi-funcitioning Mac.

Programmer Jannis Hermanns has created  mini Macintosh that isn’t just a cute little thing for hobbyists to try and own, he’s made something that actually works.

It’s not a fully functioning computer, obviously, but it’s a Lego that when hooked up to power — works.

Here’s a look at this little ditty:

The software that this little Lego runs is called Docker, which isn’t going to let you run GarageBand or iTunes but it does do things. It’s not top of the line, but the Lego set can show images and can operate a clock, which actually makes it more functional than we thought it might be.

Beyond the slim functionality, it’s nothing more than a novelty. Still, the time and effort put into this thing is proof that the love runs so deep that there is are endless ways to keep altering Lego to make them even more awesome.
