After the success of so many original shows from House of Cards to Stranger Things, Netflix has started to try its hand in original movies. There have already been a handful of intriguing projects, but War Machine looks like it might be one of the most ambitious projects by Netflix to date.
War Machine stars Brad Pitt as General Dan McMahon, who takes over NATO forces during the war in Afghanistan. The movie is inspired by the late journalist Michael Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan.

Anything that stars Brad Pitt and is directed by David Michod (the director and writer of Animal Kingdom) is bound to create a lot of buzz. The fact that it’s coming to Netflix makes it an even more interesting project.
