Netflix has released the first full trailer for their upcoming original war movie War Machine, starring the likes Brad Pitt, Ben Kinglsey and a number of others.

It’s been an amazing run for the online streaming platform Netflix. What started as a delivery system for movie rentals has turned into one of the biggest companies in the digital age, and that’s allowed the company to explore all kinds of creative ideas.

After the success of so many original shows from House of Cards to Stranger Things, Netflix has started to try its hand in original movies. There have already been a handful of intriguing projects, but War Machine looks like it might be one of the most ambitious projects by Netflix to date.

War Machine stars Brad Pitt as General Dan McMahon, who takes over NATO forces during the war in Afghanistan. The movie is inspired by the late journalist Michael Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild & Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan.

To get Netflix subscribers excited for the upcoming film, the streaming platform released its first full trailer for War Machine, which you can check out in the YouTube video below.

Anything that stars Brad Pitt and is directed by David Michod (the director and writer of Animal Kingdom) is bound to create a lot of buzz. The fact that it’s coming to Netflix makes it an even more interesting project.

There’s still some slight stigma around movies released on streaming platforms, but that mentality is quickly fading away.
