I recently purchased the MagniFi 2 for my home theater system, and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. With its advanced features, it’s no wonder this product has received rave reviews. Still, is this product really all that? In this product review, we’ll take a closer look at the MagniFi 2 and see if it’s worth the investment.
Immersive 3D Audio
The Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar boasts virtual height effects. The wireless subwoofer delivers an incredible room-filling and truly immersive 3D listening experience. You’ll feel like you’re at a concert or in a theater. It’s a product made by and for audiophiles — the 3D audio feature creates a multi-dimensional audio space, allowing you to hear every little detail in your music, movies, and games. The soundbar and subwoofer work together to create a realistic and immersive soundstage that really brings your entertainment to life.
Dynamic Surround Sound
The Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar features six powerful drivers, including four 1″ x 3″ full-range drivers and two 0.75″ tweeters. Each driver works in tandem to produce multi-dimensional audio that’ll blow your traditional soundbar out of the water. The resulting sound quality is rich, deep, and dynamic. The soundbar’s exclusive Voice Adjust and SDA Technology also allow you to control voice levels, maximizing sound clarity and minimizing voice delays and muzzled sounds. This creates an expansive soundstage with realistic imaging.
Wireless Music Streaming
This one’s for the music lovers. The Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar features built-in Google Chromecast, which allows you to wirelessly stream music from your smartphone and other compatible Bluetooth devices. This creates a multi-room system that allows you to play your favorite music tracks and enjoy unlimited playback using Pandora, Spotify, Deezer, and more. Playing your favorite music has never been easier.
This lets you enjoy your music without the hassle of wires and cables. The soundbar is universally compatible with 4K and HD TVs, providing a cinematic experience with Dolby Digital and DTS audio, and pristine clarity with Dolby Vision. The independent modes for movies, music, and sports bring out the best of home cinema, allowing you to customize your entertainment experience to your liking. Versatile, convenient, elite audio quality — what’s not to love?
Plug-and-Play Wireless Subwoofer
This device includes a plug-and-play wireless subwoofer that is instantly recognized by the soundbar the moment you power it on. The 8″ downward firing driver fills your living room (or media room) with high-impact surround sound and deep, heart-thumping bass without distortion. It’s also pretty easy to set up. Once you’re done with that, you’ll have a clean and clutter-free look. Every techie knows that this is difficult to achieve, what with all the wires involved with most devices. However, this soundbar and subwoofer is perfect for those who want to reduce that clutter.
Endless Connection Options
The Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar features three 4K HDMI inputs, one HDMI ARC Output, an Optical and 3.5mm Auxiliary inputs, allowing you to connect to a multitude of devices using Bluetooth, USB, and Wi-Fi. The Chromecast-enabled speakers allow you to play music throughout your home, creating a multi-room system that’s perfect for parties. If you thought the process couldn’t get more streamlined, here’s the kicker: the soundbar also comes equipped with an infrared remote that controls both your TV and the soundbar. It’s compatible with all major TV manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Vizio, TCL, and Sony.
Hassle-Free Setup
When we said that this device was easy to set up and use, we weren’t kidding. The Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar & Wireless Subwoofer is as hassle-free as they come. The soundbar comes with HDMI and Optical cables included, making it easy to connect to your TV and other devices. The soundbar is universally compatible with 4K and HD TVs, providing a cinematic experience with Dolby Digital and DTS audio, and pristine clarity with Dolby Vision.
Pros:
- Virtual height effects and wireless subwoofer deliver an immersive 3D listening experience
- Equipped with powerful drivers to produce multi-dimensional audio
- Exclusive voice adjust and SDA technology for maximizing sound clarity
Cons:
- The subwoofer can be boomy and loud
- The soundbar lacks a center channel and struggles to separate voice from music/effects
- Some technical issues such as sound stopping and popping when switching HDMI inputs
Conclusion
Ultimately, the Polk Audio MagniFi 2 Sound Bar & Wireless Subwoofer is a top-of-the-line product that’s worth the investment. With its advanced features, endless connection options, and wireless streaming capabilities, it’s a great addition to any home theater system. However, I did notice that the dialogue and center channel simulation could have been better. I had to turn up the Voice setting almost all the way so it would combine both left and right to simulate a center channel. Despite this minor drawback, the MagniFi 2 is an excellent investment for anyone looking to upgrade their home theater system.
