UCS Millennium Falcon will not be in stock by October 1st

The UCS Millennium Falcon us supposed to be released on October 1st, but don’t expect it to be in stock.

The Force is not strong with Lego’s massive UCS Millennium Falcon release. The set, which is a record-breaker for the amount of pieces included in a Lego set, was supposed to drop on October 1st.

While the release date hasn’t changed, the availability of the product has. Thanks to the disastrous pre-sale that Lego rolled out last week, there won’t be anything to buy when October 1 rolls around. That’s right, the entire UCS Millennium Falcon stock has been bought out weeks ahead of its scheduled release.

The LEGO online shop released a note that stated not only is the current stock sold but everything is on backorder.

There’s a good side and a bad side to this. On the positive side, it shows that the hype for Lego isn’t going anywhere, despite musings that Lego was a thing of the past. It might be gimmicky to release a 7,000 piece set, but it moved all available units before it was even officially available.

On the downside, it’s sold out. Which means anyone who waited for the release date, which is what you’re kind of supposed to do, is out of luck. That sucks, and there’s really no other way to say it.

Anyone patiently waiting for the Millennium Falcon and did things “the right way” is going to have to wait until the backorders have been fulfilled before even getting a shot at the set. There’s no saying when that will be, but chances are it’s going to be a long time.

Hype for Star Wars Lego remains real, which is a good takeaway from this even if it comes at the expense of those of us still waiting for their shot at the UCS Falcon.
