Amazon is a fantastic merchant to get your stuff from. But as with most other retailers, buying from them comes along with a charged sales tax. It’s just the way things are, and whether we like it or not, taxes will always be there waiting for us to pay them. It’s a way of life, and unless you’re buying food, you’re most likely to be forking over some additional money in taxes anytime you make a purchase.
Fortunately, there is a way around this if you’re looking to cut down on paying taxes. This trick involves buying your product from a third party seller through Amazon, rather than buying from Amazon directly. It turns out that there are many sellers out there that don’t require buyers to pay for a sales tax. In many cases, you might find another seller offering an item for the exact price as Amazon, only without having to pay a sales tax. If every dollar counts, then this will be another easy way of keeping every cent you can.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, here, and assume that every third party seller on Amazon doesn’t charge a sales tax. Many of them still do, and it just depends on who you are buying from. So if you’re specifically trying to save some money on the taxes, you’re still going to want to check your cart to see if you had the charge added.
