For a long period of time, many people loved how Amazon always provided a free app of the day. Tons of quality paid apps would become available on Android or Kindle devices, and people were able to save lots of money this way. Eventually, however, the free app of the day from Amazon became a thing of the past, as the company finally put the kibosh on it.
However, Amazon had bigger plans when it came to offering free content for its customers. Thus started what they call the Amazon Underground, a new haven for some sweet free stuff for us to consume. It’s an app for Android devices, through which you can get games and apps which are “actually free”. Amazon makes it a point to demonstrate that none of the games obtained through Amazon Underground are pay to play traps. They encourage developers to keep these games completely free in a mutually beneficial relationship, as they pay the devs based on the time people spend playing these games and apps.
People get several big name games through this service, according to Amazon’s website. Games like Goat Simulator and Frozen Free Fall can be obtained through there, and all of the in-app purchases are already included with them. Amazon really means it when they say the Underground games have to be completely free. The free apps of the day are gone, but if now we’re getting apps and games that are completely free instead, I’d say we are pulling ahead.
