Certainly, one of the greatest parts about Amazon Prime is its free 2-day shipping it offers for all items it sells directly. If you order online a lot, the costs of that shipping would be astronomical if not for Prime. Two days is hardly any time at all to wait when you decide you want something on a whim and click to order it online. And that’s why Prime members never look back once they have access to that 2-day shipping. Why would they?
Well by quickly choosing the 2-day shipping when checking out, many Prime members miss out on saving some additional cash. If you check out the other sellers besides Amazon selling the same item, you may see other listings at substantially lower costs. Sometimes, the costs are so much lower, that even if you pay the shipping costs, it’s still cheaper than what you’d pay straight from Amazon.
Of course, the downside here is that the shipping won’t be as fast as you are used to. If you need something within the next couple days, you are better off sticking with Prime. But if you are able to wait on whatever it is you’re ordering, be sure to check out the prices of what the third party sellers are selling it for. Your wait might last several days to a week or so, but if saving money is what you’re mostly caring about, then this is a good option.
