For a limited time, you can get a $15 Amazon gift card for signing up for Amazon Prime.
One of the cooler subscription services out there over the last few years has been Amazon Prime. It’s not a perfect service, but it’s slowly coming along as a serious contender for Netflix — mainly because of that incentive of free two-day shipping.
While the two-day shipping is a nice perk, the fact that you have to pay $99 up front for an entire year of the service has been a sticking point for many. But while you don’t have to solely sign up for a year anymore, Amazon is trying to twist your arm with a surprisingly cool deal.
Amazon, through a promo with RetailMeNot, is giving away $15 if you sign up for a year of Prime.
Now, the catch is that you have to sign up for a full year of Prime, which is currently valued at $99 before tax. So, essentially, you’re getting $15 off that Prime membership as the reward bonus comes in the form of an Amazon gift card.
Still, that’s a pretty killer deal considering Prime is almost never linked to a deal or a promo of any kind. Only recently did Amazon realize that people didn’t really want to sign up for something for an entire year and not have an option of anything else. That’s why you’re seeing Prime offered at $10 a month.
It’s a steep price to pay for a $15 gift card, but if you already know you want a year of Amazon Prime, this is the nudge that you didn’t know you were going to get but can’t really refuse.
