Amazon released its new way to buy classic pieces of work. It’s called ‘Singles Classic’.
Another new Amazon program was released today, and it allows customers to purchase short and long-form stories from famous writers. Although, this isn’t the first time Amazon has done this, and in 2011 launched ‘Kindle Singles’ which was for more short, long-form and non-fiction stories.
The new program is called ‘Singles Classic’ and unlike the former ‘Kindle Singles’, does not have a word limit on what can be sold on the website. The focus, according to The Verge, is to resell old stories and essays from celebrated fiction and non-fiction authors and magazine writers like Norman Mailer, Susan Orlean and Gloria Steinheim.
The Verge also mentioned that the program has more than 140 essays, stories and articles for the very low price of 99 cents. That means you can buy famous pieces of work from Time, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and many more.
David Blum, Editor of Kindle Singles said in a press release that, “today’s readers might never have the opportunity to discover great works like Ron Rosenbaum’s ‘The Secrets of the Little Blue Box,’ Marcelle Clements’ ‘The Dog Is Us’ or TIME Magazine’s legendary 1966 cover story ‘Is God Dead?’.
“With Singles Classics, we are making these seminal works easy to find and afford – by a student writing a term paper or by readers in search of short works by the writers they love,” said Blum.
