The Last Jedi Lego sets found at a Toys R Us that went rogue

Someone found two Star Wars The Last Jedi Lego sets — including a Kylo Ren Tie Fighter — at a Toys R Us weeks before they go on sale.

We are just months away from the release of Star Wars The Last Jedi, and with that comes the potential for leaks. While the story seems to have been kept under wraps, for the most part, it’s merchandise leaks that the marketplace has to be careful of.

Lego leaks are no secret these days, as vehicle sets and Minifigures have been finding their way (illegally) to Reddit forums and other corners of the internet. But some leaks are the real deal, not just photos of products before they hit shelves. One leak, in particular, saw a Lego set actually hit the shelves somewhere in America. Two sets, to be exact.

The two sets in question are the 75176 Resistance Transport Pod and 75179 Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter. It’s not specified which Toys R Us these sets appeared at, but there’s a decent chance this won’t be the only store in America to accidentally put them on shelves.

Who knew the person that leaked the Game of Thrones episode at HBO Spain also had a side gig at Toys R Us.

Nothing The Last Jedi related is supposed to hit store shelves until “Force Friday II” in September. That’s when all of the merch for The Last Jedi is supposed to become available to the public for the first time. It’s the same thing that we saw in 2015 ahead of the release of The Force Awakens, expect the ship was much tighter as far as how things were run back then.

It doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem, which makes this mistake nothing too serious. There’s something to the sanctity of waiting until “Force Friday II”, as it’s a Black Friday for Star Wars fans that comes every other year.

Of course, there’s no one in the galaxy who wouldn’t try to get their hands on some Star Wars merchandise early. After all, why risk missing out when you can beat everyone to the punch?
