After the popular releases of series like Daredevil and Jessica Jones on Netflix, Marvel is preparing for another big title on the online streaming platform.
During Comic-Con, Netflix and Marvel announced the release date and trailer for the newest series, Luke Cage. The Jessica Jones character and love interest will be getting his own show, with all of the episodes available on Netflix on September 30.

Luke Cage is a hero with superhuman strength that can’t seem to be hurt through traditional means, as you can see in the trailer. However, considering there will have to be some major conflict, Cage has to have some kind of weakness, which will likely be revealed during the show.
Marvel wasn’t just done with teasing Luke Cage at Comic-Con. They also revealed a trailer for Defenders, which will feature Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and the Iron Fist and will come out some time in 2017. For those who have been big fans of the first two seasons of Daredevil, Marvel and Netflix also announced that there will be a Season 3, although it isn’t clear when the season will premier since the actors will be busy filming for Defenders.
Along with Mike Colter playing Luke Cage, House of Cards star Mahershala Ali will be playing Cornell Stokes, while former The Wire actor Frankie Faison will be playing “Pop” which is presumably Luke Cage’s father.
