The new Air Jordan 4 “Pure Money” shoes have been revealed, with an accompanying release date and price tag — but are they worth it?
We have been gifted with the reveal of the latest Air Jordan show to hit the market, and already there are mixed reviews. The product won’t drop until the summer, so there’s still time to get used to the new look but some might not be able to get past the ‘Dad Shoe’ nature of the Air Jordan 4 “Pure Money”.
As far as the nitty-gritty details, here’s what we know: The release date as of now is May 13th, with a price tag of $190.

That’s some serious coin to drop on Jordan’s that truthfully aren’t all that impressive. Sneakerheads will likely song a pair for completion sake, but anyone else looking to get in on the latest Jordan’s release will likely be holding out for something a little better.
Based on the basic nature of the shoe — the “Dad Shoe” look — we have to wonder if that look is now in. Steph Curry was blasted for his lame Under Armor shoes that were basically a call back to every New Balance show your gym teacher in middle school wore in the 90s.
But since getting relentlessly trolled, it seems that the ironic nature of the “Dad Shoe” has some how worked its way into being hip. Like grandpa sweaters and 80s eyewear, it’s now officially hip to look square.
The “Pure Money” isn’t as lame as the Curry shoes at Under Armor, but it seems to reinforce this trend that old fashion is new money for companies. It also shows us that if you have to do a Dad Shoe, then there might be a happy balance we’re working towards to appeal to all pockets of the Sneakerhead universe.
