20. Germany World Cup (2014)
Germany won the World Cup back in 2014. And they did it while wearing one of the best kits ever worn by a soccer team. With the exclusive sponsorship of the 2014 World Cup, Nike did their uniforms. They took what was a pretty good kit and turned it into one of the best they’ve ever designed.
Nike kept Germany’s tradition of having a primary white kit while adding a lot of nice touches. The side stripes are great and so are the shoulder stripes. Black and white is always a nice scheme for stripes. But what makes this kit so great is the crest and design on the chest. It has the perfect amount of red and black. The crest is a nice throw back to what they used to wear before Germany became united.
Their away kit was also perfectly done. It showed hints of ruby, with the traditional horizontal stripes you usually see rugby teams where. The red and black stripes are perfect and complement each other very well. White stripes adorn the shoulders down to the sleeves. It looks like something Adidas would do, but it looks wonderful.
Germany was famous for having some mediocre kits before the 2014 World Cup. Nike changed this by being innovative. At the same time, they drew a lot of inspiration from their previous World Cup jerseys. Nike won the 2014 World Cup with their designs. Any number of their designs could have been on this list. But Germany’s were the best of the tournament.
