30. San Diego State Aztecs Football (2016)
This is a really underrated look. White and black are always a good decision, but they can look a bit bland at times. This is where Nike’s creativity and boldness shows. They added some very nice flair to the jerseys. San Diego State’s teams are called the Aztecs. Someone at the company has to be a history buff because they went with sleeves and helmets resembling the Aztec sun.
The look isn’t the best, but it’s so appropriate. This sums up why they are so great at designing uniforms. They add something special to just about everything they do. Each of their designs are very unique and well researched. The look is even more fantastic when San Diego State wears all black.
One way to get noticed is to have unique jerseys. Obviously, talent is a far better way to do it. But when you’re a relatively small school like San Diego State, sometimes you have to get creative to get national attention. Their gorgeous jerseys have definitely helped. Believe it or not, recruits care about the jerseys. They want to go somewhere they’ll be noticed, whether it’s because they’re producing or because they’re wearing awesome jerseys.
The Aztecs are starting to get up there in talent, as they have the NCAA’s all-time leading rusher. But don’t overlook how important Nike’s jerseys have been to getting them to where they are today. Credit them for sticking with the classy white and black look while making it pop with some gorgeous details.
