8. Michigan State Spartans Football
This is yet another example of Nike not messing with a classic uniform. Instead, they found other ways to improve an already elite outfit. The Michigan State Spartans have one of the best uniforms in college football and they have Nike to thank for it.
They have a fairly simple color scheme with a forest green hue and white. This might lead to very limited options as far as the jersey design, but it’s a double edged sword. On one hand, it stifles creativity. But on the other hand, it’s easy to design a sharp looking uniform.
Recently, Nike added some subtle changes to the outfit. They added a Spartans logo to the center chest, a Big Ten logo to the right chest and a swoosh mark to the left chest. Before, the swoosh was on the right chest.
You can’t talk about Michigan State’s uniforms without talking about the best part – the helmet. The helmet looks excellent with the forrest green. It also features a huge white stripe down the middle and the white Spartans logo. The helmet has a metallic look to it, which almost gives it a three dimensional appearance. That’s very innovative and creative.
Luckily, they don’t wear green pants. Otherwise, they’d look like tiny Jolly Green Giants. Michigan State wears white pants. Nike did a great job fixing some very small things to make improvements to something that wasn’t broken. However, the Spartans don’t even have the best college football uniforms in Michigan.
