You can take home one of the Lego daffodils in Hull

Last week a field of Lego daffodils sprung up in Hull to welcome ht e spring months, and now you might be able to take one home with you.

Spring has sprung, but the Lego daffodils outside the full cultural center in England are coming down. After popping up a week ago to raise awareness for the center as well as welcome in the warm spring and summer months, the daffodils are coming down, but could be coming home.

That’s right, Lego fans are going to want to listen up for this one, as these one-of-a-kind daffodils are going to be given away once they are taken down. Rather than destroy these creations, and effectively be counterintuitive to the message of preserving history, Hull will be giving away the daffodils asking for nothing in return other than a donation to the cultural center.

Here’s the official statement telling us how to collect:

“On Tuesday, between 2pm and 5pm, in return for a donation to Mind and Hull Citizens Advice Bureau, the individual Lego flowers will be available to take home on a first-come, first-served basis.”

Lego fans will always counter with saying they can just build something like this on their own, but that’s not the point here. Of course we can all build something on our own but to take home one of the Hull daffodils is to take part in the time honored tradition of sharing all things Lego. It’s one thing to build something on your own, while it’s an entirely different thing to be able to share in the glory of a creation like this.

No one is going to be giving away their Super Star Destroyer kit they built, but one of the best feelings after finishing a kit is to show it off to everyone around you. That same logic applies here, as this is Lego art in its truest form — a sculpture that anyone would want to give a home and show off.
