4. Penn State Nittany Lions

Perhaps the most famous jerseys in all of college football belong to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Nike has deep ties to PSU, supplying their jerseys for many years. They’ve been very smart with their design, never changing much of quite possibly the most classic look in NCAA football.

The look starts with the renowned helmet. It features a white background and blue stripe. There is no side logo on these helmets, making them fairly unique. On the front, there is a Penn State logo. It’s quite possibly the simplest look in college football, but it works very well with this uniform.

Before 2011, the Nittany Lions featured white sleeve stripes. However, Nike took them away and made their uniform the simplest in NCAA football. There are no stripes or anything fancy with Penn State’s jerseys. It was a deliberate change and it’s one which makes it even better. The navy blue is a very nice look for the top and the white is a great color for the pants.

There have only been a few additions since they got rid of the stripes. And even then, those changes have been universal for Nike teams. The left chest area features a swoosh mark. Meanwhile, the right chest area features a Big Ten logo while the center chest are features a Nittany Lion.

You don’t get much cleaner and simple than Penn State’s football uniforms. But it works so darn well with this color scheme. Nike was very smart to get rid of the stripes, giving Penn State a very unique look.
