After the successful release of Netflix’s first ever sports documentary series, the online streaming platform has officially renewed “Last Chance U” for a second season.
Netflix has done an amazing job over the last few years of developing their own original content, and one of the newest series on the online streaming platform is already getting another season down the road.
The online streaming platform announced that it had renewed the hit sports documentary series Last Chance U for a second season. The series follows a prestigious junior college (EMCC) as it attempts to win another national title while following the incredible stories of some of the team’s players who are on their last chance to keep playing football at a high level.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Greg Whiteley who has genuinely captured both the struggles and triumphs these young men face in a world that often seems designed to hold them back,” Netflix VP Lisa Nishimura said in a statement. “Coach Buddy Stephens, Academic Advisor Brittany Wagner and the entire team at EMCC have bravely opened their doors for the filmmakers to capture their real world as it unfolds. We eagerly anticipate having a front row seat as they continue to fight for their dreams in the coming season.”
The first season of Last Chance U has been met with widespread acclaim. The series even followed a couple of soon-to-be recognized names, including potential starting Auburn quarterback John Franklin III. There is no timetable for when Season 2 will be released, but fans of the first season are definitely fired up about the news.
