Amazon Prime users were thrilled about all of the great sales on the second annual Amazon Prime Day, and the sales numbers proved that in a big way.

After the commercial success of the first Amazon Prime Day, the company decided to hold it again in 2016, with the 24-hour event taking place on Tuesday. According to CNBC.com, Amazon announced that this year’s Amazon Prime Day was the biggest day of sales in the history of the company.

Compared to last year’s Amazon Prime Day, the company reported that sales increased worldwide by over 60 percent, while U.S. sales increased by more than 50 percent. Amazon sold more than 90,000 televisions, two million toys and hundreds of thousands of Kindle e-readers throughout the day.

“After yesterday’s results, we’ll definitely be doing this again,” said vice president of Amazon Prime Greg Greeley in a press release.

Despite such a successful day of sales, there was an issue early in the day. Some customers were reporting issues adding items to their shopping carts. Fortunately, the issue was resolves just a couple of hours later.

The sale was only available to Amazon Prime members, although the company wouldn’t reveal how many new customers had signed up for the service heading into and during the store-created holiday.

Although other companies like Walmart tried to directly compete with Amazon and their holiday, it was hard for them to get any closer to the online retail giant. Walmart allowed free shipping on all online sales to try and compete with Amazon, but wouldn’t disclose any information about how it impacted sales.

With how big of a day Amazon had, expect this to become a staple holiday for the company.
