    8. Use price tracking alerts to be notified of price drops

You might have noticed that Amazon likes to change their prices on the products on a pretty consistent basis. Sometimes, you might see something you need on there for a dirt cheap price. The next day, it could be back up in price to something around twice that. You never really know, as the prices on Amazon do tend to fluctuate quite a bit. But if you’re not checking the pages for the items you want on every single day yourself, you’ll never know when an item will be at its cheapest.

That’s where CamelCamelCamel comes in. Silly name aside, it is an awesome website. It keeps a price history for items on sale at Amazon, so you can see how much the prices on things change. To satisfy this curiosity alone, you don’t need to sign up, and can just view the website. But to truly take advantage of CamelCamelCamel, you should sign up, and here’s why.

When something you want drops in price, you can set up CamelCamelCamel to email and/or tweet you immediately. That way you’ll know right away when that sale you’ve been waiting for finally happens. Now you can purchase that item right then and there before it shoots back up in price the next day. Who knows why Amazon changes the prices of their items on a frequent basis, but it can work out to your advantage if you’re keeping track of the prices.
