28. Your family members can share your Prime service at no added cost
Say the head of the household has a Prime on his or her Amazon account, while the rest of the family does not. But it’s very possible that others in the house have their own Amazon accounts as well. For some out there, these other family members will pay separately to have their own Prime services, It makes sense, because if, say, a person wants to purchase birthday gifts for their spouse, they’d need to use their own account to avoid the surprise. But most others would rather not pay for an extra Prime service, and just pay the extra for shipping using their own account instead. Well, there’s a much simpler fix for this problem.
Amazon is now offering what they call the Amazon Household for customers to set up. Prime subscribers can add the email addresses of others they wish to share the Prime services with. The only requirement is that the other person(s) need to be living in the same household. This means that you can’t add your uncle Chico who’s living in North Dakota to your list and hook him up with your Prime benefits. But it does mean a spouse can have their own access to all of Prime’s benefits, such as the free and fast shipping and Prime video selection, without having to log into the other’s account.
To set up your household now, simply head on over to Amazon Household and start entering in the information!
