2. Leave items in your cart for a chance at a coupon code
This trick is hit or miss and cannot be assured to you as a guarantee. If you do this with every order you place on the website, the trick will probably not work most of the time. But this is still something handy to try if you are ordering something you can wait on.
What you would do is add items to your shopping cart, as if you are ready to check out. Stay signed in to Amazon, but then just leave the website without placing your order. The items will stay in your cart, just waiting for you to check them out. At that point, Amazon can smell the sale, and doesn’t know why you aren’t biting on it. So sometimes they will try to sweeten the pot a bit to get you to finalize the purchase.
With items in your cart, Amazon might email you a reminder that you have items ready to check out. If you’re not biting, they may even send you a promotional code to take a percentage off of your order. So if you’re lucky enough to get this to work, you could save an extra 10 or 20 percent off on the specific items you are wanting to buy.
There is no rhyme or reason to getting these email offers, and it seems like it does so at random. But it won’t do it at all if you don’t have items in your cart. So maybe just keep something in there at all times to see if Amazon ever offers you a deal for it.
