Idaho: Grant Teton Brewing, Amber Ale

Do you know which state is the biggest barley producer and one of the largest hops producers? It is Idaho. With that type of grain production, the craft beer industry is growing in the state.

The state is growing with numerous craft beer breweries popping up all over. Idaho’s capital, Boise, has interesting collaborations, like Boise Brewing’s farm to table co-op. But, some of these specialty beer are only available at the tap room.

To find a more readily available beer, look to the majestic Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Grand Teton Brewing is the original Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park brewery. Since 1988, the brewery has been making beer at the base of the Tetons.

The founders of Grand Teton Brewing believe that the Teton Valley produces the best craft beer. In addition to local grains, the brewery believes the local water makes a difference in taste. The glacier run-off, crystal clear water adds a clarity to the complex beers that this brewery creates.

Grand Teton Brewing’s Amber Ale is the brewery’s longest standing Signature beer. According to the website, the beer is described as “a true beer drinker’s delight.” Beer drinkers have described this beer as complex. The use of local hops adds to depth and uniqueness of the beer’s flavor. Overall, the beer is quite smooth and enjoyed in a variety of settings.

The Grand Teton Brewing Amber Ale is 4.7% ABV and is available year round at various retailers.
