Stare at a beer label too long and you might start seeing all type of things. Maybe after one beer you see a fuzzy duck, but after 2 beers all you see is a rabbit. Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery has a way to make you think with both its beers and the bottle’s labels.
Founded by a philosophy teacher, Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery is a passion project with a little bit contemplation. The brewery’s label uses a version of the duck-rabbit diagram. Look at the picture one way, you see a rabbit. Look at the picture another way, you see a duck. The brewery’s founder thought this picture was a creative look back at his former profession.
Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery only focuses on dark beers. After exploring so many different beers and breweries recently, a dark beer focuses brewery is unusual. Many people stay away from dark beers for fear that they are too heavy, over bearing or even just stinky. Try a Duck Rabbit beer and you will see the difference.
The Hoppy Bunny ABA Black Ale is a good beer to start the dark beer journey. This beer is big, bold and doesn’t back down. According to the brewery, the intense beer uses “eight separate hop additions” to create the extreme flavors. Layered into the beer are several lighter flavors too. Citrus, pine and even some spearmint flavors come through as you sip this unflinching dark beer.
Duck Rabbit Craft Brewery beers are available at select retailers.
