New Hampshire: Throwback Brewery, Maple-Kissed Wheat Potter
New Hampshire is a tiny state, when thinking about actual size. But, this small state has quite a large beer community. The granite state has been producing local beers since its inception. Known for having it all, New Hampshire is ready to take over the beer world.
Many New Hampshire residents enjoy outdoor recreational activities, like hiking, fishing and the great outdoors in general. The states distinct regions influence the rapidly growing beer scene. From more metropolitan to quaint farms, a tour of the state’s many breweries would require a designated driver.
One unique brewery is Throwback Brewery in North Hampton. Just looking at the brewery’s website can bring a laugh (check out the slide, “Drink a Beer, Feed a Pig”). Throwback Brewery is committed to the enjoyment of life and giving back. From quality local ingredients to sustainable practices, this brewery has a conscious.
Since maple syrup is prevalent in this area, the Throwback Brewery Maple-Kissed Wheat Porter is a great beer to sample. Before you think that you will be drinking super sweet pancakes in a bottle, don’t fret. The brewery uses the appropriate amount of maple flavor without making it cloying sweet. The slightly sweet maple flavor balances the darker brew. While you may not want to drink this beer at brunch, it is a great alternative to big dessert.
Throwback Brewery is located in North Hampton, New Hampshire on a historic barn.
