New Jersey: Demented Brewing
Thinking about New Jersey, what comes to mind? Hopefully, not the Real Housewives franchise or the Sopranos. Still, New Jersey does not seem to be the hot bed for the craft beer movement. But, one small craft brewery is committed to creating insanely flavorful ales. That brewery is Demented Brewing.
Recently named one of the best breweries by the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival and a top New Jersey craft brewery, Demented Brewing is pushing the envelope with its flavor combinations. Hoping to persuade the New Jersey natives to try something besides light American lagers, Demented Brewing is getting people talking. From its Weird Jersey, Jersey Devil inspired logo to the seven deadly sins named brews, this brewery shouldn’t be overlooked.
The brewery was first put on the map with its Double Dementia beer. With a higher alcohol content, this beer was meant to be enjoyed for its complexity. It isn’t a beer that you chug or drink a bunch of in a sitting. It is meant to be tasted and appreciated.
Looking at the Demented Brewing’s description, the beer is meant to be complex but it isn’t pretentious. Like many of the brewery’s beers, there are sinful, devilish refreshes in the description. The Double Dementia is made with “malts the color of hellfire” and the beer is for “the most infernal of palates.” While these descriptions might make you wary, the beer is quite drinkable. You won’t drink a six pack of these beers, because you aren’t meant to.
Demented Brewing is located in Middlesex, New Jersey.
