Washington: Fremont Brewing Company, Universale Pale Ale
The Seattle area is often a leader in both food trends and the craft beer movement. The pinnacle of breweries in Washington is arguable Fremont Brewing Company. If you haven’t raised a glass of these beers yet, you better get drinking.
Freemont Brewing Company believes that beer matter. Founded in 2009, the brewery focuses on making artisan beers. All of the beers are made with local ingredients. The result is extremely flavorful, year round and seasonal beers.
More importantly, each beer is stamped with a fresh date. Anyone who has had a stale beer knows that the skunky flavor can turn you off beer for a long time. Fremont is committed to providing fresh beer to its fans. If you find a not so fresh beer on shelf, let them know.
While the brewery takes beer seriously, they embrace the fun in drinking beer. According to the company, “Fremont is the self proclaimed center of the universe.” The brewery’s pale ale is named after that statement, Universale Pale Ale. The beer plays off the Northwest location with a few additions to the traditional pale ale. While balanced, the beer is slightly hoppy and a little spicy. Even with the twists, this beer can be considered a “beer of distinction.”
Fremont Brewing beers are available at select retailers.
