    14. How to hold more items

So now you’ve been refreshing at PokeStops like mad to rack up as many Poke Balls and items as you can. Sure, catching Pokemon and taking Gyms require you to probably use those items, but you may end up reaching the item cap.

Yes, you do have an item cap. It’s a flat 350 items to begin with, which covers all items save for Eggs. (Eggs are capped at 9.) So you could have, say, 250 Poke Balls, and then room for 100 Revives, Potions, and Incubators.

However, there are ways to upgrade your item capacity. In the shop, there are bag upgrades for sale. Each costs 200 Pokecoins, but you get room for 50 more items each time you buy one.

For those who have to have as many items as possible, it’s worth springing for one or two of these upgrades. That’s especially true once you unlock different Poke Balls.

The shop also sells a Pokemon storage upgrade. To begin with, you can have 250 Pokemon before you start needing to transfer some to Professor Willow. Each upgrade costs 200 coins. Like the bag upgrade, you get 50 more spaces for Pokemon.

However, it’s tougher to justify this upgrade unless you have plans on doing some rapid leveling up with Lucky Eggs or really want to have 1 of every type of Pokemon, even unevolved ones like Charmander.
