13. How to get more Incense
If catching more Pokemon is your goal, using Incense will become second nature to you. Incense makes wild Pokemon more likely to come near your Trainer in the game for 30 minutes per use. You’ll get your first two Incense items for free to start, but after that, there are two ways of obtaining more.
First, you can buy them in the shop, as seen in the above screencap. 1 Incense will cost 80 Pokecoins. If you want 8, then be prepared to pay 500 Pokecoins. Finally, the Incense super-pack of 12 costs 1250 Pokecoins.
However, if you really don’t feel like spending money, you can simply grind up some levels. According to Polygon‘s guide, you will also receive Incense at certain levels as part of your item bonus. Those levels are: 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 25, and 40. Most of the time, you’ll get just 1 Incense, but levels 20, 30, 35, and 40 give out more than one. Level 40 hands out 4,
That comes out to a total of 16 free Incense given out by leveling up. Since level 40 is currently the max level in the game, you’ll need to use them wisely throughout your training.
